Tartu Airport Moves Towards Cashless Service

Starting from 1 July 2026, services at Tartu Airport will become cashless. Parking and ground handling services, including airline-imposed fees such as excess baggage charges, can henceforth only be paid for by bank card.

The aim of introducing cashless service is to provide passengers and visitors with a more convenient, faster, and modern service experience. In recent years, the share of cash transactions has shown a clear downward trend, accounting for an average of only 3% of all transactions.

Therefore, the transition to cashless service is part of the airport’s broader development strategy, reflecting changing passenger expectations and international practices. At the same time, it helps reduce the unreasonable risks associated with cash handling and storage.
