Tallinn Airport Announces Tenders for New Retail and F&B Spaces in Terminal Expansion
Tallinn Airport is launching tenders for the operation of new retail and food & beverage (F&B) spaces as part of its terminal expansion. The goal of the expansion is to provide travellers with a wider and higher-quality selection of services, and to establish the airport as a destination where people want to spend more time.
“Our strategy is centered around growing the number of passengers, as we aim to improve the traveller experience and make the airport a unique destination,” said Riivo Tuvike, Chairman of the Management Board of Tallinn Airport. “We want to offer an environment where travellers feel comfortable and find unique products and experiences that are distinct to Estonia’s airports.”
Currently, the terminal hosts seven retail stores and ten various food outlets. We listen to our travellers’ preferences and know there are many opportunities to enhance the offerings. With the terminal expansion, retail space will grow by 26% and F&B space by 10%. Many of the existing stores and food outlets will undergo renovation, and new stores and eateries will be added. The new services will include Estonian handicrafts and design shops, books and toys, electronics, a pharmacy, and several dining concepts – including a family restaurant, cocktail bar, pub, café, deli, and fast food.
The first tender for food outlets will take place from December 2025 to February 2026, with contracts awarded for up to five years. The tender covers a family restaurant and cocktail bar, located in the restricted area of the airport. The family restaurant must offer quick hot meals with a short waiting time, while the cocktail bar will focus on a wide selection of cocktails and alcoholic beverages.
Subsequent tenders will cover additional food outlets, including a pharmacy, fashion and accessories store, and a convenience store, along with several other food and beverage spaces.
The tenders will be conducted through a transparent process, and proposals will be evaluated based on the strength of the concept, planned investments, digital solutions, and the operator’s ability to enhance the brand recognition of the airport unit.
