Reconstruction works at Kärdla Airport
Extensive reconstruction works are currently underway at Kärdla Airport. This means that the usual passenger terminal is temporarily closed to the public. Check-in, ticket sales, and pre-flight security screening are taking place in blue temporary container buildings, which are clearly marked with signs. Please follow the signage and you will easily find everything you need.
We understand that this temporary arrangement is not the most convenient, and we kindly ask for your patience. A more modern and comfortable passenger terminal will welcome travelers from the end of the first quarter of 2026.
During the renovation period, we are doing our best to ensure that flights operate smoothly and safely. However, some amenities will inevitably be limited during this time. We thank all passengers for their understanding and patience.
Why are we carrying out these works?
The goal of the reconstruction is to make Kärdla Airport more energy-efficient, modern, and passenger-friendly. As part of the works, the entire building will be insulated, the electrical systems and lighting will be upgraded, and a new ventilation and air-conditioning system will be installed.
In addition, the interior design will receive a fresh look, and the layout of the spaces will be improved to make movement more intuitive and waiting areas more comfortable. Our aim is to offer an even better travel experience in the future—for both local residents and visitors.
Thank you for your understanding and for traveling with us during this transition period!
