Parking arrangements at Kuressaare Airport will change from 1 July

From 1 July, parking at Kuressaare Airport will become paid. The aim of the change is to keep the airport car park primarily available for passengers and airport visitors, and to ensure that parking spaces remain available for those who genuinely need them during their journey.

As the change in parking arrangements directly affects both passengers and the local community, it is important that the new solution be as balanced as possible and take into account the needs of different users. For this reason, the first 24 hours of parking will remain free of charge.

The purpose of the change is to avoid situations where the airport car park is used for other long-term parking purposes, while at the same time ensuring the sustainable provision of airport services, including parking services. Introducing paid parking will help prevent situations where the airport car park is used for other long-term parking purposes and will support its primary purpose of serving airport users. At the same time, it must also be taken into account that state support for regional airports has been decreasing year by year which leads us to critically review our cost base and find additional sources of revenue that help ensure the sustainable provision of services.

Parking terms:

• The first 24 hours of parking are free of charge, but the start of parking must still be registered in a mobile app or via mobile parking. A parking disc alone is not sufficient.

• After the free parking period ends, the fee for each subsequent commenced 24-hour period is 3 euros.

• For longer-term parking, it is possible to purchase a periodic pass, the price of which depends on the length of the parking period, or a monthly pass for 30 euros.

• Parking can be paid for via the Pargi.ee or Parkner app, or by mobile phone using the parking area code KUR.
• A service fee charged by the mobile operator applies to each parking session. This also applies if the vehicle is parked for up to 24 hours.

• Parking operations are managed by Ühisteenused AS.
