Please allow more time than usual to reach the airport, as nearby roadworks are causing heavy congestion
Ongoing roadworks around the airport are creating severe traffic jams both when entering the city and when travelling to the airport from different districts. This is seriously affecting both public transport schedules and the smooth flow of private car traffic. We recommend allowing plenty of time to ensure you arrive at your flight on time.
Construction of a Tram Line Brings Changes to Public Transport Routes
Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT) is building a parallel tram line branch in the airport area, which will make it possible to increase tram service frequency in the future and improve the operation of the terminus. Construction work will begin on 18 August and will result in changes to the routes of long-distance buses as well as city bus lines 2, 13, 15, and 49. The works are expected to be completed by 31 October 2025.
Due to the rerouting of public transport, the walking distance to bus stops will increase. Please follow the signage. Therefore, we kindly ask to allow more time for reaching their destination compared to before.
Detailed information on timetables, routes, and stops can be found at transport.tallinn.ee. Information on the city bus lines departing from the airport can be found here: https://airport.ee/public-transport/
In addition, starting from 25 August, the construction works will also bring changes to long-distance bus stops.
- Long-distance buses arriving in the city will stop at the bus stop on Tartu Road during the construction period – from there it is easy to reach the passenger terminal via the parking house.
- Long-distance buses departing from the city will stop during the construction period in the area between the Airport Public Transport Terminal and Sepise 2 (the old terminal building).

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
The construction works have been commissioned by Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT) and the contractor is KMG Infra OÜ.
