Tallinn Airport Passenger Numbers Increased in March

In March, Tallinn Airport served more than 270,000 passengers, which is 2.4% more than a year earlier. In the first quarter of 2026, more than 725,000 passengers passed through the airport, or 4% more than in the same period last year.

In March, airBaltic launched two new direct routes, once again offering the opportunity to fly to Vienna, and added the long-awaited connection to Hamburg. Wizz Air also began operating flights to Warsaw.

Regular direct flights were operated from Tallinn to 33 destinations, with services provided by 13 airlines. The airline with the largest market share remained airBaltic (28%), followed by Ryanair (12%), and SAS and Wizz Air (both 11%). In March, Tallinn Airport recorded 3,484 flight operations, averaging 112 landings and take-offs per day.

“The crisis in the Middle East and fluctuations in jet fuel prices have not had a direct impact on Tallinn’s air traffic, and flight connections are operating as usual,” said Eero Pärgmäe, Member of the Management Board of Tallinn Airport. “Air traffic is currently growing as expected, and demand for flying remains strong.”

During the summer season, it is possible to travel directly from Tallinn to 52 destinations, and 18% more flight tickets are on sale than last year. New direct routes include Athens, Düsseldorf, Gdańsk, Hamburg, Rome, Tirana, Warsaw and Vienna.

Finnair will launch a summer route between Kuressaare and Helsinki.

The scheduled destinations for the 2026 summer season are Amsterdam, Antalya, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Billund, Burgas, Budapest, Brussels, Dublin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gdańsk, Gran Canaria, Hamburg, Helsinki, Heraklion, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Kuressaare, Kraków, Kärdla, London (Luton, Stansted and Gatwick airports), Malaga, Malta, Milan, Munich, Nice, Oslo, Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Prague, Reykjavik, Rhodes, Riga, Rome, Split, Stockholm, Tenerife, Tirana, Warsaw, Venice, Vienna, Vilnius and Zurich.

Charter flight destinations are Antalya, Bodrum, Burgas, Corfu, Enfidha, Heraklion, Hurghada, Lamezia, Larnaca, Sharm El Sheikh and Tivat.

In March, the regional airports served a total of 8,661 passengers (2025: 7,926 passengers). The number of passengers grew the most in Tartu Airport, increasing by 18%, where in addition to Finnair’s direct flights to Helsinki, several charter flights also took place in connection with the Biathlon World Cup stage in Otepää. In total, 4,784 passengers passed through Tartu Airport, 2,787 through Kuressaare Airport, and 717 through Kärdla Airport. Ruhnu airfield served 245 passengers and Pärnu Airport served 128 passengers.
