Passenger numbers up 5% in November

More than 260,000 passengers passed through Tallinn Airport in November, which is 5% more than during the same period last year. Growth was supported by new flight options, including Wizz Air’s new route to Kraków, airBaltic’s direct flights to Madeira (Funchal), and Jet2.com’s connections to Manchester, Edinburgh, and Birmingham.

Additional frequencies to major hub airports such as Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Istanbul also contributed to the increase, offering convenient onward connections to many destinations worldwide.

“This year’s winter season is exceptionally busy in terms of new route openings. Demand is growing steadily, but even more flights have been added, giving passengers greater choice and improved connectivity. The flight schedule will expand further in December when Wizz Air launches direct flights to Budapest, Venice, and Vilnius. This is an important step in diversifying Estonia’s air connections,” said Eero Pärgmäe, Member of the Management Board of Tallinn Airport.

In November, scheduled flights operated to 32 destinations, complemented by charter flights mainly to Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada.

A total of 14 airlines offered scheduled services in November, with the largest passenger market shares held by airBaltic (28%), Ryanair and SAS (each 11%), and Lufthansa and Finnair (each 9%).

During the winter season, airBaltic offers direct flights from Tallinn to 16 destinations: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Brussels, Funchal, Geneva, Copenhagen, London Gatwick, Gran Canaria, Málaga, Munich, Nice, Paris, Riga, Salzburg, Tenerife, and Vilnius.

Ryanair operates six direct routes: Berlin, Barcelona, Dublin, London Stansted, Milan, and Stockholm.

SAS flies directly from Tallinn to Copenhagen and Stockholm, Lufthansa to Frankfurt, and Finnair to Helsinki.
