Arriving and leaving Kärdla Airport

Kärdla Airport is located about 6km from the city centre.

By car

Parking spaces are available in front of the airport terminal and in the garage next to it. Parking is free and has space for 37 vehicles.

It is recommended that those arriving by car be at the airport 45 minutes before departure to complete the necessary check-in procedures on time.

By bus

You can get to the airport from Kärdla by county bus, which leaves Kärdla bus station 50 minutes before the flight departs from Kärdla. The bus runs on the route Kärdla bus station-Keskväljak-Padu-Linnumäe-Airport.

The airport bus stop is located in front of the airport passenger terminal. The bus ticket to the airport costs:

• 2.00 euros if you buy in cash or with a bank card from the bus driver;
• 1.50 if you use a the Ühiskaart at the bus for the purchase, Ühiskaart must be already charged with the corresponding amount.

Passengers up to 19 years of age (including), persons who have reached the age of 63, persons with reduced working capacity, etc., have the right to ride for free. More information here

The airport bus line is operated by AS Hansabuss on behalf of the Hiiumaa Rural Municipality Government.

Attention! Since airlines may make changes to flight schedules, this will also affect bus times. We recommend checking the correct bus times in advance at the Kärdla Airport ticket office (+372) 463 1381 or the Hansa Bus Lines Hiiumaa information line (+372) 5855 8338.

Passengers who have purchased tickets for the affected flights will be notified by the airline by SMS.

Using a taxi to get to the airport is easy and convenient: taxi can drop you right in front of the airport terminal. Taxi drivers:

• FIE Magnus Leht, phone 5567 9728, magnus [at] tevi [dot] ee. The car can be picked up at Vabaduse 1a in Kärdla, by arrangement also at Kärdla Airport (surcharge 5 euros).

Good to know: if the flight departure time changes, the airline will notify passengers who have purchased a ticket via phone message.
